The business of real estate mediation is a socially responsible process, therefore it requires a certain control. In this respect in Latvia a strange situation has formed up – the real estate agent’s profession does not require any specific knowledge or a respective document. But the members of association LANIDA get a document certifying their professional competence. Introducing the system of voluntary certification association LANIDA has tried to mark off strictly the certified professionals from the others, thus bringing the order into the professional environment and guaranteeing the clients high level of services and maximum safety in their deals. The voluntary certification of the brokers without any restrictions to the business activities will help to arrange the real estate market and guarantee the clients the clients high level of services and maximum safety in their deals. Certification will contribute:
- to make a register of certified real estate agents and companies, to recommend only qualified companies and brokers to the governmental organizations, private companies un individual clients;
- to ensure the transparency of the real estate market;
- to validate the income and diminish the number of the “black” brokers;
- to ensure a frequent improvement of agents’ qualification;
- to facilitate searching of highly qualified specialists for governmental and the large private companies;
- to control the specialists operating on the real estate market.
